Mead basketball team ranked nationally | Schools
The Girls Varsity Basketball team at Mead High School was ranked No. 40 in the country by Maxpreps this season. Last week the team honored as part of the Maxpreps Tour of Champions, presented by the National Guard.
Mead won the state championship this year and coach Quantae Anderson says this ranking is like frosting on the cake following a great season.
"Its another round of accolades for great girls," says Anderson.
Maxpreps is a unit of CBS Interactive and is based out of California. The company uses a computer program known as the Freeman Rankings to determine to ranks for their Tour of Champions. They track high school sports across the country.
"Coach Anderson and the Mead Panthers have proven on the court that they are among the nation's truly elite high school teams," said Maxpreps President, Andy Beal, "we salute the coach, the young ladies on the team and Mead High School for a job well done."
