Finch placed on Washington Historic Register | News
Finch Elementary School has been placed on the Washington Heritage Register by the Washington State Advisory Council on Preservation. This distinction will pave the way for the school to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Finch is the first Spokane Public Schools elementary school to be places on a historic preservation list. The State Preservation Officer will now forward Finch’s nomination to the Keeper of the National Register. Lewis and Clark High School and Rogers High School are already listed on the National Register.
Spokane Public Schools Capital Projects staff and the design team from MMEC had to work closely with the Spokane City/County Historic Preservation Commission to preserve elements of the school during it’s modernization.
