Pink Tie Guys explain mission, fundraiser with rap video | Community Spirit
Have you heard about the Pink Tie Guys? The group of 12 spends a year fundraising for Susan G. Komen of Eastern Washington while wearing their signature pink ties. They have a new rap video out explaining their mission just in time for their Bridesmaids themed fundraiser at the Garland Theater on Saturday.
KXLY’s own Dee Phillips is the Rhymin’ Pink Tie Guy. When he finishes his day job on the KXLY production crew, Dee is half of the rap duo Whurlwind Entertainment. This year, he’s turned his concerts into fundraising events, and created a Pink Tie Guy rap and video to further promote their mission of education and breast cancer awareness. Make sure you check it out above!
You can hang out with Dee and the Pink Tie Guys at the Garland Theater on Saturday night for a special screening of none other than Bridesmaids. The Night at the Movies event could be a great girls night out or a fun date night, but if you show up wearing that ugly bridesmaid dress you have shoved in the back of the closet you have a chance to win a prize.
The night also features great raffle items, dessert and wine. Those items can be purchased individually, or you can purchase the Pink Pack for $30 which comes with a movie pass, two drink tickets, one dessert, five raffle tickets a commemorative Pink Tie Guys wine glass.
The event kicks off with a mingle hour from 5 pm -6 pm, the Pink Tie Guys will be pouring wine and dishing up dessert. The movie, along with a short program begin at 6:15 pm. Individual movie admissions are just $5, with wine for $6, dessert for $3 and raffle tickets for $2.
